please help me ..I dont get some of these questions...

In what three ways did the Seven Years War directly affect the colonists growing discontent toward the British?

How did colonial protest evolve?  What steps were initially ineffective and what later steps proved successful?

Why could many colonists rightly claim that the conflict was primarily a Boston issue?

There will probably be more questions coming up too.

The Seven Years War was also called the French and Indian War in the colonies. Becuase Americans were the ones to actually start the war and they were British citizens, the British Parlament wanted colonists to pay for 1/3 of the war and to also fight for them and help in the war effort. Not a completely unresonable request. However the war came right after a policy know as salutary neglect, in which the British government pretty much ignored the colonies for many years and the colonies grew used to living by themselves. Thus they didn't like it when the government tryed to put more control in. A huge resentment swept the colonies the seeds of revolution was planted!!!

French and Indian War - colonists wanted to expand past the Appalachian Mts. - Procl. of 1763 said no - colonists were taxed to help cover the debt the British incurred b/c of the war - colonists were attacked by Chief Pontiac's followers - colonists not allowed to trade with other countries.

Evolution of protests - from local taverns to organized meetings - to communicated letters between meetings - to fundraising - to formal congresses (Stamp Act Congress, Continental Congress) - to locating and storing weapons - to using weapons in self defense (Lexington & Concord) - to creating propaganda in the newspapers - to circulating pamphlets (Common Sense) to petitioning the king of England (Olive Branch petition) - to declaring independence.

Boston - Sam Adams, James Otis, John Adams, John Han****, Paul Revere, William Dawes, and others were all based in Boston. - Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party - Lexington & Concord (right outside Boston).
