Raft Questions:

  1. You are an auto-mechanic. The INS calls and asks you to report illegal aliens working for you. Do you report them?

If I was an auto-mechanic and I got a call from the INS and they asked me to have illegal aliens work for me I wouldnt report them, but I wouldnt let them work for me because if the FBI found out then my business, and employees would destroy the company. Even though their illegal, I wouldnt be a snitch because their just trying to make their living, and survive just like you and me, so I cant really blame them.

  1. You are you. In a letter to the teacher of this course, explain what was learned (knowledge, understanding and action), what can be improved in the curriculum, and what you can do to pass on this course to others.

            Dear Mr. Everett,

Youve done a great job teaching. Ive learned a lot of history that I didnt even know. I learned about Racism in different countries, Understanding different peoples opinions in their logs, and different cultures and religions. We watched movies about different types of people in different countries, about the struggles, and the types of racism. Going on a field trip could help students learn more about different cultures and ideas. What I recommend others that take this course is do the form logs, turn in all your work, finish all your projects on time, and most importantly try, and you can pass this class.

  1. You are the Presidents son. You agree to participate in an anti-war protest. Write a letter to your father giving reasons.

Dear Father,

I disagree on war. Its not fair to fight with other countries because we dont agree upon certain situations, and what they do. We can change that by using a different method. War isnt the right way to go. Not only is it not resolving conflict, which makes situations worse, it creates more wars and disagreements. Its definitely not worth our troops dying, while their giving their lives to our country, and while their families are hoping the best, and getting that phone call saying your husbands dead. Thats not fair. These are the reasons why I think was should stop. Theirs no point.

FINISH THE REST LATER

Dear Mr. E,

i learned so much in this course, this class made me open my eyes to alot of problems we are facing in the world today. I understand things alot better now, about racism , gender descrimination, different cultures, ect. I really dont think you should change anything in the class i found it very helpful to me and i realize now so much more than before and i know alot more. I think your an awsome teacher, when anyone needs help youll take time , to talk to students and help them understand no matter what it takes and most teachers wouldnt do that for their students. This class gets you ready to face problems that are out their in the world today and in the future and what you can do to help prevent it.!
 thanx Mr. E =]

Thats a tough question to answer, i wouldn't but then i would get to scared of the consequences. Because if i didnt and they found out that i am employing illegal aliens i would have just commited a federal crime and i would most likely be in jail for a long time, but on the other hand i would be giving people who want a better life just that and i would be helping them and their families. so i'm not sure about this one. hmm.gif

If the INS called me and asked me to report illegal aliens that were working for me i dont think i would report them because there probably working for less which is good for me even though its against the law and there just trying to make a better life in  the u.s and there not hurting anyone.the only way id report them is if they did something wrong to me.

No, I would not report them because if i was in their position i would not want people to report me and send me back to where i came from. They are here trying to make a better living and i am paying them to work for me, it's not like that they're doing anything bad here. Yes they are here illegaly but they are trying to change their way of life and make things better for themselves to make more money for themselves.

You are a high school dropout. Explain how a youth empowerment program teaches you to question answers in life.

I was a high school dropout. I dropped out of high school my sophmore year and i regret it. Things got very hard for me in school. I never got along with my teachers and I always got into fights. I decided that i would leave school and start working. I recently joined a youth empowerment program, they taught me how i should get an education and try hard in school so i can make good money so i can succeed in the future. If I continue to make a living like this i would not be able to have a good life because i have no education experience and like that no good jobs are going to want me to work for them. That is why i went back to school and now i am a senior and i am graduating and i will attend college next year for computer engineering.

Dear Mr. Everett,
I liked this course a lot. It taught me the different cultures and different rituals from each. I liked the ways that we explored the differnet assignments. We watched many movies and then answered questions pretaining to them. We had the projects on the different countries and where all the other races are originated from. Out of all the projects, i liked the Road Trip the most. The easiest way to pass this class is to do all the forums online and pass in all the classwork and do all the project. One thing that i didnt like was that we had many projects at the end of the year. Another project that i liked was the game boards. I also liked the part that we had no homework and tests. I would deffinately recommend this course to others. Thank You, Mr. Everett.

9. You are a high school dropout. Explain how a youth empowerment program teaches you to question answers in life.

Im a high school drop out i dropped out of high school after my freshman year because of family problems. i then entered a youth empowerment program that taught me to question answers in life. The youth empowerment program taught me going to school is a must in society today and that i need to go back to have a good life and make a good living. The empowerment program changed my life in many ways i am now attending high school and plan on going to college in the future

7. You are an auto-mechanic. The INS calls and asks you to report illegal aliens working for you. Do you report them?

I would not report illegal aliens working for me to the INS. They are trying to make their living and they are all working and hoping to become legal citizens someday, so I cant report them. It would feel like I had set them up if I did, if I felt the need to report them then I shouldnt have hired them in the first place.

3. Letter to the President:
            Dear Father,
Even though my integral loyalties will always lie with you, I must depart from your stance on the war and tell you now that I will not support it. Im a pacifist at heart and dont see war as a viable alternative to any predicament. These are my wholehearted feelings and Im afraid you must accept it, being my father. Saying this wouldnt put a wedge between us would be a lie, but I pray one for a day in which we may truly be united as father and son. Even if its only wish, Im already anticipating this moment.
            Your Son

 4. Auto-Mechanic: No, Im not reporting a thing. These immigrants do an honest mans work for a fraction of any ordinary citizens wage. Now why on Earth would I want to disturb such a beautiful cycle which ultimately results in a fatter wallet for me? Ive never asked them if they were illegal, and they never told me. They get their paychecks, and as sure as their illegal, get mine. No ones hurt. Everyones happy.

10. Letter to teacher:
            Dear Mr. E,
Im surprised we did that much work in only one semester. The class really did a lot to introduce me to things I hardly knew existed. It was incredibly informative, and believe it or not, motivational. Its difficult to critique the class, but, one thing I do think would have been pretty cool to do was learn the languages of the cultures we studied. I think learning a little Maori or even Mandarin or Basque would have been fascinating. But overall youll find no complaints or regrets in my book. Great class, would take it again next chance I had
