What impact does the legal system have on American culture or cultural groups in America?

The legal system has a big impact on american culture or cultural groups in america because the legal system is abig part of america. they help america be what it is. such as, police , senotors, the president are all part of america , without them there will be no disiplinary actions taking place. No punishment for murders, hate crimes, burgleries and more.

Yes they are. The rights can easily be changed as long as it doesnt interfere witht the safety of people in the country.  If the law was to change so that there would be no age limit to buy guns or any sort of weapon then there would be kids causing havoc on the streets. Do the political, economic, and social institutions can reduce/eliminate rights to an extent. These laws keep our country safe and should be followed by everybody.

1. How is ethics, justice and rights culturally defined, understood and measured by different groups in America?

- every group or culture in the great country of america expresses themselfes differently and has differnt beliefs. For example the the native american culture lieks to run casino, they get treated teh same as any american some choose to live on reservations some do not, and tehy ahve teh right to go to any state college for absolutly nothing!

2. What relationships, patterns and lessons has American history taught us concerning justice?

-Justice has seen numerous changes throughout the history of america. Some good and some bad. It seems as though justcice ahs always been against the African American citizens dating back since idk when. Nowadays it has gotten better but black peolpe still seem to think the law is always out to get them.

4. How do political, economic and social changes influence our understanding of ethics, justice and rights?

- politics help me understand what people are really for and against. If someone was economicaly loaded i believe tehy would get to have that special treatment cuz they are rich. and social changes are a big thing it could make or break a person the way they carry there lives.

5. Are ethical values, sense of justice or definition and application of rights culturally relative or culturally absolute?

- i believe they are culturally absolute for all of these things make a culture what it is. If it were not for these things everyone would not be different!

6. What impact does the legal system have on American culture or cultural groups in America?

- the legal system has a big impact on american culture. Some see teh legal system as favoring teh white man . Andsome see the system looking down upon teh hispanics and blacks in teh nation. Me personally, i dont think teh system favors anybody i think people do dumb things and it gives tehre culture a badd rep.

7. Under what circumstances or conditions might (or does) political, economic, military or religious power corrupt justice?

-I belive if u have power in this world u will not suffer teh harsher treatment instead u wll get off easy. Liek if i was rich i could payoff a jury member or teh judge himself to side with me. And a high ranking politician knows coutless people that will cover his behind if caught in a jam.

8. What examples of political, economic, social, religious, environmental, or military injustice exist today?

here is a link to a story i found on a military injustice http://cgi1.usatoday.com/mchat/20030821007/tscript.htm

9. Are all rights inalienable? To what extent can political, economic and social institutions reduce or eliminate rights?

-i belive rights are inalieable for they are yours for the keeping as long as u dont abuse them. cuz u almost have no rights when you get thrwon in the slammer. i belive politics could have teh biggest impact on one's rights for they have power in the Goverment and can restrict certain things that would intertwine with your rights

10. What is the purpose of rights in American society? To what extent is the enforcement of rights in America effective?

- teh purpose of rights in america is to let people be themselfes and make themselfes different from everybody else. Rights in america can stretch so much... for some people take rights to an xtreme with riots and stuff liek that trying to get there point across if threr rights have been threatened.

6. What impact does the legal system have on American culture or cultural groups in America?

The legal system has a very big impact on the American culture because people think that the legal system takes sides depending on what backround you are so therefore some people dislike the legal system.

1.well all of these can be bias to each person what one perceives as ethical and unethical can be horribly different for instance the murderer of J.F.K.  was shot before he was even brought to trial shot in the stomack and he died the shooter thought himself in the right a hero what he perceived as justice was different from the majority of other does that make his view of justice wrong I for one belive that the way we judge ethics an right wrong is what the majority of people believe or agree with so does that mean we all should conform to anothers form of justice? Ethics and justice can be as personal as religion what one sees as okay may offend another so just based on your surrounding justice is different.

2. history has taught us that the people hold a large amount of sway in the     form of justice its point of view changes with the times and if the majority of people believe in a justice or point of view then the government conforms as it should people hold the power people should not be afraid of their government governments should be afraid of their people.

3. What values influence the ethical decisions individuals make in everyday life? How are they formed? How do they change?
The values that influence the ethical decisions inviduals make every day are the way they were raised, what they learned from the adults in their lives, and, at times, their relgion. The way these values are formed is from when the child is young, most children learn by example. The examples that the adults and people they look up to set are instilled into the kids and it becomes somehting that they remember and follow most of their lives. These values can chnage as the child gets older, if the child was given bad examples as children then they may grow up relaize these were wrong and try to change. If religion is the source of their values then sometimes as the child grows their religion could become less important in their lives and then their values would change.
