Ostend Manifesto (because Brandi asked me what it was in another post and i can't remember)
It was our attempt to purchase Cuba during Franklin Pierce's presidency (1854) for $120 million. We basically said that if they turned down the offer, we'd take over the island. We didn't... until almost 50 years later.
