The American Revolutionary War Quick Facts: Began in 1775. Ended in 1783. Also known as the American War of Independence. Fighting between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen United Colonies In 1776 the Second Continental Congress formed an army and declared their independence as a new nation. In 1778 major European powers joined against Britain. The Treaty of Paris in 1783 was the reason for the end to the war.
American estimated death. 25,000 died total.8,000 died in battle, 17,000 died from disease, and 8,000 were prisoners of war.
Some of the leaders that took part in the Revolutionary War were... George Washington-commander in chief Thomas Gage-British commander in chief Paul Revere-famous for alerting the countryside that the British were coming William Howe-British general Richard Montgomery-British General Lord Cornwallis-General taking over for Washington Horatio Gates- American general Nathaniel Greene-took over for General Gates
WOW!!!! I don't remember ever reading about these generals.... but none the less..... they were all involved in the different battles involved in the Revolutionary War!!! Cool huh?!!!
One of the greatest things that happened that led up to the Revolution was the Boston Tea Party. The Brothers of Liberty dressed up as Indians and threw massive amounts of tea into Boston Harbor, so much that it was said that the harbor turned into tea. This caused a huge comotion in Parliment and the Intalerable Acts were passed.
The Treaty of Paris was signed on Sept. 3, 1783. It was ratified by the Congress of the Confederation on Jan. 14, 1784. It ended the Revolutionary War between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the US. It recognized the 13 colonizing as free and sovereign states. It established the boundaries between the US and British North America. etc. It was signed by David Hartley.

another thing, whenever i think revolutionary war, i think george washington, and whenever i think washington, i think wooden teeth, which is probably a really bad thing considering there's so many important things as commander, soldier, and president that he's known for. like, duh, first U.S. President of the US.
Like, in relationship to the War, what about Washington in Morristown, NJ (the hardest winter of the 18th century).
