You mentioned that being able to vote is gradually being given to women, but they didn't have full suffrage yet, but what exactly do you mean? Were some women able to vote? Were just more people opening up to the IDEA?

what i meant was that some states were allowing women to vote but there was no federal legislation on it. it shows there was recognition of the idea but it wasnt fully accepted yet.

Hey, I think this is one of the topics we discussed at the after school study group. People were so desparate to get out of the building that they began jumping out of the windows because all the doors were locked. And a lot of the girls were "impaled" on the fence.
Trusts were a very big deal during this time period. New state and federal laws were sprouting out of the woodwork to stop such companies as Standard Oil and today Microsoft.
Just a correction, excuse me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Aldrich-vreeland Act passed due to the Panic of 1907, not 1807??
But anyways, the Aldrich-vreeland Act established the National Monetary Commission. That in return recommended the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. Congress extended the act when British and others demanded immediate payments in gold.
The Meat Inspection Act of 1906 authorized the Secretary of Agriculture to order meat instructions. Any meat that was unsuitable for human consumption would be "condemned". This law was supposed to help the American diet. The labels on food had to be totally 100 percent accurate. There were warnings on containers. The law partially came about because of Upton Sinclair's The Jungle.
