i know this is fairly late and you probably won't  have time to critique it.

By the 1840s many arguments dealing with slavery had escalated threw the north and south. The north felt that slavery was morally wrong and that it was unnecessary but in the eyes of the south slavery was needed for plantation production. The north was correct because the harsh treatment of African Americans was morally wrong but also in the north they discriminated against them. They were in a sense contradicting themselves. The southerner arguments on the point that slaves were needed for plantation work was also a false remark. Slaves were very expense to buy so the only people who owned slaves were in the upper class which means everyone else who was not financially sound, still managed to deal with their plantations on their own. So again the north’s point of it being unnecessary is true, because the north had no need for slavery neither should the south.
